Taking a Mental Picture is the hastily-named segment where I immortalise moments I wish I’d captured on my film camera. #1 lives here; #2 lives here, #3 here and #4 here.
On Tuesday, I guest lectured at Manchester Metropolitan University (although this is incredibly cool — and I am trying to embrace and embody that, and say yes, I AM NOW A GUEST LECTURER — it’s not that which I wanna immortalise on 35mm, because I delivered it a sweaty mess. Sorry, second years!)
To take advantage of the free afternoon, I’d decided to book a tattoo in, a cute little whippet-y guy with a bandana that I’d spotted by chance on the lovely Geo Dench’s flash.
Then on Wednesday morning, my sister and I went to an old favourite, Moose Coffee, for brunch.
WHERE IN WALKED THE CUTEST WHIPPET IN A BANDANA TO CELEBRATE HIS BIRTHDAY.
Legitimately, Freddie the Whippet (as we later found out his name was) was turning 2 with a pupaccino and a candle, and was so incredibly cute and well-behaved and gorgeous, and I think you can agree that I was equally as cute and well-behaved and gorgeous — and, moreover, calm — in my conduct (iMessage exclamation mark emphasis author’s own):
And as I stared back between Freddie and my tattoo and Freddie and my tattoo it felt all kinds of serendipitous and lovely.
