I was just thinking about digging out my dissertation yesterday after finishing reading Sophie's World - I did my dissertation on the ethics around the NHS responding to patients who go to the media to complain. I can't remember much about it (was a very long time ago) other than discovering caramel digestives, which I got through packets of 😂
Sophie’s World, not Sophie’s Choice, as I always have to remind myself 😂 what did you think? And what a dissertation title too, interesting that we both did things about media representation!
Yeah I keep mixing the titles up too 🤦🏼♀️😂 I thought it was good, and thought provoking. It’s one of my husbands favourite books, and it made me understand him more 😂
This is such a great idea!! I loved writing mine, I made myself a motivational wall chart so I could tick off every 1,000 words 😂 it was a comparison of French and American writers writing about Paris in the early 20th century. I was a massive Hemingway fangirl at uni and my tutor courses were Paris: The City and American Lit, so I was living the dissertation dream. Also, I wrote it in French which I am still SO proud of. I am forever trying to get back to that geeky, bilingual version of myself, even nearly 15 years on 😂
I absolutely loved writing mine, it was called something like The Represented of Youth Culture Through Costume in BritGrit Cinema, and I loved being a big nerd about it 😍 I'd do my degree all over again in a heartbeat.
Yay I loved reading your dissertation! I still go look at it sometimes when I know there’s a reference I need. I am now deep in PhD life!
Oh bless you, ha! Always on hand for fangirl stats 🫡 and I love that for you! Our academia chats were some of my fave x
