One of the things I care about is small businesses, and supporting people in doing what they love, but I totally understand if you want to avoid consumerism in any forms, so you can change your settings to opt out of Five Star Fridays without opting out of the entire newsletter. Easy!
Speaking of consumerism! Today’s 5 Star Friday is a shoutout to The Seam, who are actively working to stop our culture of overconsumption by connecting us with talented craftspeople who can repair and mend our items. I sent a sports bra with a f***ed — that’s the technical term — hook & eye over, and was matched with a wonderful specialist called Hannah, who made it look as good as new.
I’d really recommend The Seam, and even if you don’t have anything to mend *right now*, I recommend following their Tiktok because it’s spectacularly satisfying.
Had a wonderful first experience with the Seam, and particularly with Hannah S who repaired a particularly tricky item for me. Communication was smooth and clear, and I can't wait to use them again! Thanks so much

Obsessed with The Seam’s TikTok, it’s mesmerising! 😍 I have a very, very well-loved leather bag from TopShop circa 2009 that I’m going to send to them. It’s so satisfying to have things fixed instead of chucking ‘em!!
